I have been hearing about carrarra a lot, what exactly can it do? Would it be better to get it or stick with poser and bryce?

Stick with whatever it takes to create your best work. Carrara will have many features of Raydream studio 5.5 as well as lensflares and particle effects and physics from InfiniD. Spine modeler, vertex modeler, and metaball modeler etc..

hey jeff, thanks for the reply. How well will it work with poser 3 and bryce 3? Even though i may decide to upgrade, i would like to know how well carrara will work with the other products metacreations puts out. Oh, and sorry for the misspell, hehe, it is always too late at night for me to attempt spelling correctly. I am not that good in the day, so i am that much worse at night when im tired. I also do not own Raydream, so i dont know that much about it either. Any pertinant info on that product? one other thing, is there any way to get a bryce 3 scene to import into poser 3? I have tried and i am not sure about that. I am too new at this stuff, hehe. I am also to lazy to read the book. oh well. thanks to you jeff and to any others who reply.

Lots of unknown factors there; we'll just have to wait until the program comes out.

I'm not too good at using Bryce, maybe the Bryce forum is a better place for B3 questions.

I got an ad from Metacreations yesterday. The full price is $399, upgrade from Ray Dream Studio 4 or 5, $199.

So for that price, I guess nurbs are out of the question, huh?
JeffH posted Wed, 08 December 1999 at 12:42 PM
No Carrara doesn't have NURBS, but a plugin can be made for it by an outside developer.

In the data sheet for Carrara it says that it has metaballs as one of its modeling features (including boolean features).
