and a giraffe! Finally found a way to import the old S3D models. Remapped a couple. Made texture and bump maps. So I guess I'm getting there. Slowly, but surely! I do have a couple! (grin... OK.. a lot) of questions though. How do I... a) resize the models so that they show up in poser in a reasonable size. I read a tip that it should be done in the original 3D program. But nop matter how small I make the giraffe in S3D it comes out REALLY big in Poser. b) When it has a reasonable size, I'd like to add my figures to the library! But how?? c)Where can I find a good tutorial on how to make my little figures move. Like the teddy turning his head... etc... In short.. make them posable. I guess that was all for now... Exept that the teddy material seems to "shine". I wanted him to look furry. And no matter how I try to fix the material in Poser, - he still shines and looks like he is made of plastic... I want him a softie :) Britt

A) When you import there is a menu of check boxes, one of them is labeled "percent of standard figure size" check that and lower the percentage to 20% (this may be to big or to small, but will give you a place to start experimenting) B) To add a figure to the library, click the plus sign at the bottom of the library you want to put it into. (if the item has no movable parts it should go into the prop library) C) I can't help you with making the figures move, but check the tutorials section right here at renderosity.(http://www.renderosity.com/tutorial.ez)

the easiest way to make things move is with morph targets. I have a good tutorial. there is also one on makeing a gingerbread man. follow the link in Shadowcat's post. also sams3d has a good one. http://www.sams3d.com then once you have your feet wet PhilC has one for sale $30 I think. I just bought it and it's worth the price.

oooooh can you share how you got s3d to import? I have it but couldn't figure out how to save it as anything useable. What do you export it as in order to do it? The teddy and giraffe are great :)

Nicely done textures! I'd also be interested in how you got the old s3d files to import? I've just started using 3DExploration - does that do it? :) Irene

Thank you guys! and Irene and pokeydots, yes. That's the tool I've been using. It seems to work pretty OK. I'm also corresponding with the gentleman who was the product mgr for S3D, he has an additional method to convert .ged files. He is on the road at the moment, - but promised to get back to me when he's back home to explain it to me. :) I'll keep you posted.
