I have found that anytime I use a model with Koz hair (Linlin, Pearl, etc.) that I can't used any other item that is transparent. If I do the program locks up when the status bar starts up. So if I put Linlin in a dress with a transmap I can never get it to render. I have to use the 3 fingered salute to get out of poser 4. Is this a known problem? Does anyone know what the cause could be? I have other pics that have multiple transmaps, it's only when I use Koz hair (so far at least). Thanx for your help.

Have you tried to remove the hair, save the character, load the character then put the hair back on separately? Delete the .rsr files? save the character as a pose & face? Just throwing out ideas, that may or may not work.

I did load Linlin, put on one of Bebop's dresses with a trans. If I rendered it the system would lock up as soon as the status bar appeared. I took the hair off, it still locked up. I started over and loaded Linlin, removed her hair and added Koz ponytail, then added the dress and it rendered fine. The other day I was making a pic of the mermaid Pearl as a piece of sushi, when I added some soy sause (which I made semi transparent) the same thing happened, it locked up. I assumed it was the Koz hair Pearl uses and the fact I had something else transparent in the pic. Now I'm begining to wonder if it's just a memory problem, but I have no way to test that. Or maybe a space problem as the drive I have P4 on is down to about 24 Megs left.

BINGO! That's your problem, not enough temp file space!

i wouldnt say but only in this case that thats the prob,if shes only got 24 megs ,yes, that might be the prob, what i think is shes running too much for her machine to handle, maybe reducing the file sizes of textures, and if youve been in pose a while,i.e. poseing moving things and whatnot, then save, reboot then start the render, your machine can only handle so much even big machines can only deal with so much, why do you think that poser crashes after youve been in there for so long, your ram gets clogged then it says "well poser aint important anymore, ive got windows to deal with and your clock and virtual memory and comet cursor and everything else, thats why you got to save ,save save,..............this is prob all wrong though!cheers!
