You mean this is going to let the P4 fem use Vicki textures without all that fussing around in Photoshop?!?! Bless you... you should get the Poser equivalent of a Nobel Prize! :-> Please let me know when it's done, and I'll be right at the head of the download line.

I, too would like to be notified. Thanks for all the hard work.

Oh, my. What an awesome thing you have accomplished. Now, if I read correctly...I can use this in my commercial print work, without having to give "credit"? (IMHO...having to give credit that way makes an artist look unprofessional.) Please let me know...This is sweet. Poppi
Poppi posted Sun, 21 October 2001 at 10:12 PM
Oh, and, please put me on the notify list...Poppibird1@cs.com Many thanks, for this wonderful job you have done for our community. :*)
AprilYSH posted Sun, 21 October 2001 at 10:32 PM
Hey Poppi, No you don't have to give credit on commercial work, and it's optional for non commercial too! (And you can print that lol - if it's not clear from the readme.) I do appreciate when people stick a credit in the gallery so I can do a search and check out pics where people use my stuff. (And I think I give good critiques...) More importantly, I really appreciate feedback on bits that could have been done better! I'm doing this to learn as well as enjoyment... learning requires feedback. :) pokeydots, thanks :) fauve, yep! Jackson, sure thing. altho you'll prolly get bugged by ebot when i post an update tonight. :) Well, glad to know i'm not the only one who might find this useful! I should warn again that the brows on some Vicky textures may give you much trouble!!!

If the body takes the Vickie textures, then I ask if I can use the body for Polly (my Vickie/Posette combo figure). That way, then only Vickie textures would be needed for Polly :o)
AprilYSH posted Mon, 22 October 2001 at 3:51 AM
Since your Polly is free as far as I know, you sure can WarriorDL. :) Altho redistributing Trav's brow props will require his permission. I can only give redistribution permission for my bits... tho Polly wouldn't need brow props would she? :) I'll IM you guys when it's up (also the interested people from the original thread.) I'll email the ones who left their emails since I assume you'd prefer that. It will get linked in freestuff too later (don't want to link it straight away, my personal webhost is not geared for too much traffic - but will be requesting hosting thru 3-darena.com when I verify it's packaged correctly.) So if you're not in a hurry to get it you don't have to post a request here. Only those who must have it asap ;)

Many thanks. Especially on the license clarification. I do mainly print work, advertising for our whole 9 block square business community. (Only cg artist in this town, though Picky lives about 20 miles farther north, in another town...a little bit bigger.) I will most definitely credit you if I ever get time to post to gallery, again. Once again...thanks so very much. This looks neat. Poppi ;*)

mi-scha emailed me something non-english Poser versions will have to fix: It looks like the P4NudeWom.obj of my german Poser version is slightly different then the english version. The geometry is the same, but the material names differ. Well that is not the first time Poser tries to upset me. ;) One has to change the material names in P4Vskin.obj to the corresponding names in the cr2. If I had sent the actual obj file this wouldn't happen cos the materials would already match the cr2. However I sent it uvs coded and it apparently doesn't same the material names. Does pcf do this too? If not, maybe I should package it as pcf.

PCF format is just the OBJ format encoded. Thus the PCF would have identical names as the OBJ file.
AprilYSH posted Mon, 22 October 2001 at 11:05 PM
I will try it out tonight (after watching Charmed ;) ) and repackage it if pcf is better for this scenario... I have uploaded to 3-darena.com freebies for anyone else interested. (Thanks LSM)

I removed the links from freebies temporarily, pending investigation in the material names not being saved in the uvs package. I'll check em out tonite - expect update in about 10 hours from this post. sheepish grin

heyas; the newest uvmapper does save material names. (25e i think it is?) if the person downloading your skin is using an older version, it might not pick those up. also, i'm not sure the mac version can do all that. they might need the pcf version. i'm sure they'll let you know! thanks a ton again, april. :) i cant get it yet, til my new hard drive arrives. ::camping out on the stoop, waiting for the ups guy::
