Recently I bought characters items from Renderosity and all of them had bad texture references. All of them had install their textures in one place and in the cr2 and pz2 file were looking for them in a completly different folder. Heck, Some were even in the wrong hard drive. I don't mind fixing cr2 texture references on free stuff. That is different. You get what you pay for with free stuff. When I pay for a character, I expect that the install procedure should put all files where they are being referenced. Do people not know that Poser crashes when the texture does not exsist. Enough complaining, Let's solve the problem. Poser 4 supports relative texture referencing. If you look at cr2 file, you will see that texture references may look like this: "C:Program FilesMetacreationsPoser 4RuntimeTexturestexture.jpg" The problem is that only works if all those folders exsist. If you have a new version of Poser 4 or Poser Pro Pack or if you have Poser not installed in the default location, Poser starts looking for the file and crashes in the process. If you change the reference to : ":Runtime:Textures:texture.jpg", that fixes mosts of the problems. You must always make sure that the textures are install in folder where the cr2 and pz2 file say where they are. Not all purchased characters have bad texture references. I want to say thank you for all the vendors that take the time to make sure that their items work without any trouble. I also want to thank the makers of Cr2 Editor. It is a great product. Remember, make sure that textures are where they say they are.
