This project actually came up after I started a thread about Mike and his tights?! AT any rate, someone suggested I could take a texture map and paint over the body in order to create some clothes. I figured if I were going to paint a body, I might as well have some fun. So here are some shots of Vicki's painted body suit. What do you think?

There seems to be something weird about the skin texture... bumpy or something... Do you have any idea of the cause of this distortion? Is it my own sloppy painting?

No, it's the bump map. Also, you want to get a "No Nipple" morph and a "No Bellybutton" morph to have the best effect.

Remember, kids! Napalm is Nature's Toothpaste!

That's what we're working on over at the QuikClik PozeCloze project for Mike.

Since the alterations can be included in a pz2 file, the files are easily shared. They are all essentially morphs and/or textures.

The morphs are the only sticking point. For me they are difficult to do. Just finished fairly acceptable boot morphs only to find that there are no existing GeomTarget slots in the feet or toes of the base figure.

To fix that, we're building a CR2 for Mike with two Custom GeomTarget channels for each element (not including the head, hands, or fingers...except when we get into doing glove morphs, I guess.)

The picture is the basic suit and boots with a prop belt.

Yes, I did figure out that the bump maps were making Vicki's painted suit look...bumpy, and fixed that. As for her nipples and belly button, well I like them, grin. While we're at it, I painted a suit for Mike.

Thanks. (By the way I'm often like that.....Insomnia?!)

yeppers ;) between insomnia and nightmares, i don't sleep much.

After 51 years of sleep deprivation, I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea. My body stopped breathing hundreds of times a night, and woke to save my life. Not very conducive to restfulness? I am not hooked to a machine which keeps a continuous flow of air going into my body through my nose. The mask fits over the nose. It ain't pretty, and I am not supposed to open my mouth when I'm in bed. (My wife loves that!) I sleep better these days...Just a few other problems I need to handle.

Ron, my mom-in-law has a c-pap machine, too. Now she can actually sleep, and it's been good for her. But we can't get her out of bed! i think she's making up for lost time. :^)

I suppose you could also alter the bump map so that the exposed flesh still retains the bump while the painted on clothing is left flat. But I'm sure you have already thought of this.

ronknights posted Thu, 25 October 2001 at 2:38 PM

I have to figure that one out...I don't have much experience with bump maps. I actually painted on top of a copy of the texture maps for the bodies in question. That may complicate things?
