I've got a copy of Bryce3D which I never got around to loading into the computer until now (Mac G3/OS8.5). According to the User Guide that came with the program, Bryce3D only accepts DXF and 3DMF props. However, in Shamms Mortier's Bryce3D book, he states the program will support 3DS, OBJ, DXF, and 3DMF props. What's up? I have a ton of props in OBJ and 3DS format, and I plan on importing Poser 4 figures also.
