On a thread below we started talking of the idea of having an informative chat session in our own little chat room here. Question 1: Who would be interested? Question 2: What about varying time zones from our international friends, and friends from different time zones in the US? We can start as informally as possible, wing it, and see how we do. If they get very informative photography wise, I would be willing to create something for our website that we could integrate about questions and answers that are beneficial. If anybody has thoughts or ideas please thread them in. Thanks all, enjoying a glorious morning here, although cloudy and slightly damp it looks like something out of a gothic novel and I love these kinds of mornings! Syyd

...tried and tried, but our new, very effecient firewall prevents chats. :o/

so turn off yer firewall you paranoid schitzo! The way it is, a really good hacker can break into to ANY computer regardless of security measures, so if he finds that a computer has this massive firewall, he's gonna be a little more interewsted. the best way to be safe is to just back everything up once a week or two. I'm in your time zone Syyd. A lot of times wouldnt be a prob, though friday, sunday, tuesday, and thursday nights are the most likely eavaiable times for me. Also, aren't all the chats still snafu?

I would think a week night might be easier......here's my logic, on the weekends, I usually walk out of here and don't look back, or I shut down and work so whatever works how about weekdays, but lets hear from everyone else first....I will be here regardless.....Wow, how sad....LOL

"We can start as informally as possible, wing it, and see how we do. If they get very informative photography......." I moderated a meeting on "Digital Imaging" Tuesday evening. A wide ranging discussion can be interesting between moderately serious people. I find that chatrooms that are not directed to a subject or moderated are populated by idiots. Since we don't have any of those, it might work out OK.

Hmm, sounds very interesting. I think I can come up with something to attend. The problem is that it's nearing the end of the year. At my job things become pretty hary with trying to finish up all of the years goals within the last month of the year. However I can definitely try. I'm game for the 6:00pm - 7:30pm chat. ( I know I always say that but only make it about 50% of the time. ) Slynk if Antoonio works at a company like mine there is no way he's turning off anything! Definitely I can check threads as they progress here on the West coast. BTW. As I recall 4:00-AM West coast US is roughly 6:00am in the Philipines! It may actually be better for STARS to join in a chat in the early mornings! East coast time! Bsteph

this may be sacralage to some of you but another idea for chat is to create a room in mirc like another forum group i talk to alot do. a couple of them have ownership or something on the room and are seen as in there most of the time. most of them are on most of the time discussing map editing and stuff and a lot of time they just have fun but a couple log all what goes on so as to answer questions later in the main forums.... you find that time zone thing seems less of a problem.. just a thought.

To clarify, my time zone is NY time +13 or CA time +16. I'm usually online late at night andduring the wee hours of the morning, so that would be around 0830 onwards NY time. (*
