Poser 4 say: Caught C exception: exception access_violation trapped at 167:47d299 Comes up when Ive played a long time and changed a lot with a figure or if I try to load certain clothes...does anybody knows why Poser say so. It goes away when I reboot my puter and start all over again. Im running Poser 4 (no patch or anything) on PC with AMD processor, 700 MG hertz and 256 MB RAM. Sky who dont like this at all... :-(

Have you run scandisk lately? Or Norton Disk Doctor? Also, check the RSR files on the items you are having trouble with. You may also wish to reinstall poser over what you have. You will only lokse any custom UI settings. Everything else would stay as it was. thenodemaster

Ehhh...no and no and yes Ill look at the rsr-files. And yes re-install Poser. A lot I can try I can see...THANKS A LOT :-) Sky :-)

I recommend installing the 4.03 patch. I got rid of that particular error msg when I installed the patch and I haven't seen it since.

That message tends to happen when an OBJ file is not in its proper place. Make sure the OBJ file is in the proper RUNTIME/GEOMETRIES folder. You can tell where it belongs by opening the CR2 file in a text editor (notepad is what I use). You will see a line that says- :Runtime:Geometries:"foldernamehere":"objnamehere.obj" The foldernamehere part of that is the location of where the OBJ file should be within your Runtime/Geometries folder. Then, if it is in the proper place, go to that folder anyways and DELETE the RSR for that OBJ.

are you running current patch and windows 2K or better? I also found that if poser locks up after you have it up a while there is a possibility that there is a background conflict, like with screensaver or some other background program; also check if your windows system is in control of the "rest" mode or the hardware...

I hope :-)!!! I downloaded the patch Eowyn was talking about and it seems that it helped. The clothes that gave me troubles is now working fine and tomorrow Ill find out what Poser say when I starting changing this and that and everything :-) Thanks a lot to all of you for your fast help :-)

There was some discussion a few days back about some memory enhancers. The problem you described sounds like your computer grabbed hold of some memory and wouldn't let go when it was done. You might do a search on memory and see if you can find which programs those folks were using. The program runs in the background and cleans up the memory making your system work a bit smoother.

I saw that discussion about memory enhancers and downloaded memMax,there were a couple of others mentioned, but this one seems to be ok so far, especially on my pentium 200 with 64Mb ram and Win98.
