Hi all, Just wanted to let you know that Eovia has launch an official contest for Carrara Studio . Here's the message they sent on Yahoo Groups : ____________________________________________________________ ---- WE INTERRUPT THIS PROGRAM FOR AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ---- ____________________________________________________________ The year is almost over. Don't look back - it's time for some fun. Welcome to the first official Eovia contest. This is a pre-announcement to jumpstart your brain before the turkey puts your body in sleepy mode for the long holiday weekend. WARNING: Please remember NOT to feed Turkey to your computer! Theme: don't look back, objects in mirror are closer than they appear ________________________________________________ Ever saw those letters scribbled in the passenger-side rearview mirror? OBJECTS IN MIRROR ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR Of course you did, if you've seen Jurassic Park. It's now your turn to tell us, through Carrara, what your driver side rearview mirror of doom's nightmware would be - what is the thing you would definitely NOT want to see in a rearview mirror? - a tornado - a leonids meteor attack - a bikini-atoll experiment gone bad - a stampede of elephants - bin laden riding on a tomahawk (Stanley Kubrik style) - a bunch of kids roller blading, or worse: ice skating! (hint: streets under your tires are slipper than you think) - an avalanche - a cockroach sitting on the mirror.... (and barely hanging on your supersonic speed) - your mother-in-law on a bad hair day Have fun and try to bring your worst nightmares back to virtual reality. Two categories will be considered: 1) Images. The objects must be seen in the mirror, i.e. you'll want to make it look like you're indeed in a car and looking back through that passenger side rearview mirror of doom 2) animations. same idea for animations as for stills, but you're allowed to start or end away from it, e.g. outside of the car, as long as there is one shot somewhere which shows the rearview mirror. You're even allowed to take a trip to another planet. The winner of each category will be announced at MacWorld expo.
