I just had this problem last night ... but it only affected me when I was moving the camera and not in stationary form ... Rather annoying but yours would be much worse if it was on all the time. Never had it happen before though

I was just learning Trans Maps over the weekend (I'm new to poser folks) and this confused me to no end till I figured out it was ok in the renders despite looking all wrong in the work document. Problem was that it often looks the same in the work document even if you've miss set your trans mapping info. I had several renders that had a black shadow over the area that was supposed to be transparent. I eventually figured out how to set the dials. But it was a pain learning this when my preview didn't show any difference either way.

Switching to another document display style can help. I usually use "smooth lined" which adds a visible wireframe, making posing easier. -ScottK
