Hello, I'm making a little Abbey and I'would be happy to find a monk character to give some life to it. I know PhilC has made a nice one but I'm a little short of money so for now I would rather look for a free one (even a non posable would be ok :)) Thanks for your help :) J-L By the way, here is a render of a part of the Abbey which might one day arrive in the free stuff if some people think it's worth it :)

Oh yes! That's more than worth it! Post it post it!

as for a free monk, there's a yoda robe that might work at poser.3dgladiators.com (I think you can resize it)

Also check Baument, I remember he had a monk type character but it's in 3DS. As a reclusive figure in the shadows though, he'll do :)

Abraham, if you already have the Michael character, shadowcat and thip have conspired to create an excellent monk-style robe with separate hood attachment. It's available here in Free Stuff; just do a search, keyword "robe". Cybermonk recently posted a rosary to Free Stuff, as well. By the way, I agree with the others; your Abbey looks great. Wonderful lighting. Please do give us a chance to play with it after you're done.

That's a lovely abbey! I do hope you'll let us play with it! Nice work!

That is a very cool abbey. Just curious what you modeled it in? If you post it, they will come. jon

Baument has the "mourner" figure in a poser-importable format I got it on one of his CD collections, but I know I've seen it in his free models as well. I agree about the picture - looks excellent; was it rendered in Poser? - the lighting is particularly attractive in the scene!

Superb abbey, Abe. I once was lucky enough to go to Avignon in France and see (the remains of) the medieval pope's palace there. Your abbey has almost exactly the same mood of sombre, ancient dignity about it, especially in that superb lighting. BTW : if you decide to search for the Mike Robe, you have to make another search, for the word "mantle", to find the hood thingie.

Thanks a lot to all of you for your help and nice comments :) The Abbey will probably soon come to the free stuff, I just need to make some adjustement to be sure it's also usable without problem in Poser. Thip, you saw one my inspiration source (with the Mont Saint Michel), I live in France, near Lyon, not far away from Avigon and I always loved "Le Palais des Papes". Btw, the part of the Abbey you see here is the most simple one, the "Celarium" (don't know the name for it in English, I suppose it would be store). Again, thanks a lot :) J-L

There is a character called Jawa at the link. Maybe you can adapt him. Looks like a monk to me (cr2, obj files). Great abby!
