Hello. I am familiar with the notoriously long render times associated with Bryce 4. Does Bryce 5 really have a significantly faster renderer? I dont really want to take Corels word for it. I would like to hear you guys if in fact it was a serious improvement or not. Especially those who are using some heavy volumetrics. Thank You

Bryce 5 take more times than Bryce 4 but it depends a lot on how you are setting your render specifications. Bryce 5 have new control for render, so he can take more time, but equal picture take about the same time if the settings are the same. If you have more than one computer or one computer with 2 processors, there the use for network rendering that is very good. If you think of staying with Bryce 4 or go with 5...Me i did the choice and bought Bryce 5 because i like very much what he is offering...Network Render, Metal balls, Tree Generator, a better Terrain Editor and lighting control with a new render settings for quite real effects. Like they say...this is my 2 cents. Pleiades

I am slightly annoyed with Bryce 5 because it takes so much longer to render. An image that took 5 hours to render in 4 would be approximately double that in ver 5. I would advise to stay away from volumetrics unless you can afford to leave your p.c. sit and render for a few hours-days. World Builder seems to be more powerfull and is a lot faster in render times....if you are serious about imagery.
