heyas; nothing specific or important.... but i was just wondering if anybody thought about this like i have. when i'm extruding or lathing or doing splines and whatnot, i kinda feel like a carpenter or construction worker, just building stuff. it isn't until i get the mesh into some kinda shape and start poking the individual vertices around that i feel as if i'm really sculpting. then i feel all artistic and creative and in the zone, there. am i a fruitcake or what? ;) or have you ever noticed that small kinda dichotomy there?

Yep. It is exactly what keeps me coming back and also why I feel guilty when use a prefab to do my more visual elements in a scene. Also when you finish your mesh and you apply the IK and all of the morphs and begin building your scripts to animate it, to watch it come to life is even more awe inspiring.

i agree with both of you alot of lws layout ive yet to explore for the simple fact i keep trying to better my modeling skill It seems theres always a little moore to tweak but finding a happy medium is rewarding that way i can get to messiah and animate it only then do i feel ive acomplished something Using pre made stuff can be more of a necssity but it kills th rewarding feeling of acomplishment leaving me feel like i did a half ... job

Yeah... spent hours yesterday on a quite simple Subpatch model, because I used for the first time the magnet tool on subpatches... and had such a blast!

Until yesterday I tried to work on the vertices of the cage with stretch and move, but with the magnet, it kept the surface "swing" as I wanted:)

Maybe something pretty basic to most of you, but for the first time I forgot time while I modelled:)

What is intersting for me is trying to think of when you are done. Trying to keep he polys down while keeping the detail up. I like the Idea of thinking of te end game while starting. Also What details will be seen and what are just superflous.
