Oho, Valleyo and Royo poses for Vickie, now I have to do pinups. ;)

Mr Schlabber, you are a "God of Poses," and I am extremely grateful for all you've done for us. I sincerely hope you make some big money off your Pose CD! I have one niggling little question concerning the Woman and chains poses. Here is a quote from the site: Downloaded this Chain-set from Scoopey - well here is the result (violent) I don't see a link to where I can download the chains? Help, please, kind sir.

... and I'm no god - if I would be one - this world would have less people dying of hunger or killed in war :o(

Um, my friend, I understand your humanitarian impulses. I was merely trying to find an easy way to give you credit for your art and generosity. If you never created another pose, you will have already given us a wonderful bounty. I know you'd expressed a desire to take a vacation before. And I had whole-heartedly done my best to reassure you that you deserve it... Thanks for being "YOU."

Thank you for taking the time to work on Vicky and Mike poses, I'm sure they will help a lot. Don't forget to take that rest you mentioned before! :) Take care and thanks again. SnowS Hoping his pictures are worth 1001 words.

I do not speak as a representative of DAZ, I speak only as a long-time member here. Be nice (and quit lying about DAZ) and I'll be nice too.

By the way, there is one mystery I am sure you can help solve. I see hundreds of poses marked "hair." I never could figure how to make those work. I know you can click on the "body poses," and get them to work.. but I can't get the hair poses to work. I have used Ultramorph Woman 3 in the past. I think she has morphable hair? (I now use Mike and Vicky almost exclusively). Is there a special kind of hair we need to use when we do these poses?

ronknights posted Mon, 03 December 2001 at 11:32 AM

I always like to preface every message like this with my sincere gratitude to all the work you've done, for free! We will have a slight problem here for people who don't yet have Poser Pro Pack. There are no rsr pictures, so those of us who don't have the Pro Pack will see that shrugging person. I loaded a pose, and was greeted with several warnings that this is a newer version than expected, but the pose finally worked. We "non-pro-pack users" might want to go through the extra step of adding the poses back into the library with the same name. That gives us a thumbnail to look at. I've attached a screenshot to illustrate this technique. However, I changed the name of the pose so you could see both "thumbs." Remember it's best not to save the morph channels! In the meantime, it would be a good idea to download Schlabber's pose illustrations when you download the poses. That way you can get somewhat of an idea what you're working with.

Now where do I get the long conform curls? And do they work with Vicky?! I don't have them in my Figures directory/folder

Ajax posted Mon, 03 December 2001 at 2:21 PM

The long conform curls come with poser and they're in the Cothing-Female category (from memory). They work with P4, not Vicky. DAZ sells a vicky version for about $10 I think. And there are some transmaps around to make them look a little less plastic. Not worth the bother IMHO. As for the thumbs, Yarp's P3DO explorere is about to get an update that will allow bulk conversion of png to rsr so you can make all those pro pack thumbs show up in one go. The program is in the free stuff but you'll find the update at his site (SENO software) when it's done.

mine seems to work with vicky...

Schlabber posted Mon, 03 December 2001 at 3:02 PM

Oh - yeah - some mysteries here to explain ... (shrugs): 1. The *.rsr <-> *.png decission ...: Wasn't easy for me - I bought the ProPack a while back but never installed it because it seems to slow my old PC down quiete a bit - a few months ago I decided to buy a newer PC and so I had the Power to use ProPack - I installed a normal Poser-Version and one with ProPack and splitted the DAZ-Persons to the ProPacked Poser-Version and leave the old Poser-Version as it is ... - so it came that the Vicky-poses only have the *.png - but you can make your own *.rsr as described from ronknights ... hmm - therefore the thumbnails are more usable - but I think however you make it - you make it wrong and I don't have the time (and fun) to do both preview-methods 2. The hair for Vicky ... The one I use is from normal Poser4 - it is the standard-Long conform curls (see image inyerface) attached to Vickys head ... I'll update my site the next days with a cr2 from this hair (of course no object included due to copyright reasons). The folder is "Clothing-Female". 3. My illustrations ... Sooner or later a 2nd CD of mine will be available with a database of all the poses (those who have bought "In the blink of an eye" (ITBOAE) know from what I'm speaking). I'll add around 400 exclusive poses (200 Vicky/Mike - 200 normal P4-folks) on that CD and sell it then for 25 $ - for all of you ITBOAE-users - there will be an update on this CD for your database also ...) -> the release-date for this is planned as middle February - beginning March (if everything goes well) - I'm starting now a new commercial poses-project for a company (no names here ... lol) but don't worry - I'll leave some space for PIAA. Hope this all answers some questions ... thank you for your thank yours :o) Happy posing Schlabber

If I got my hands on Poser Pro Pack, I'd certainly want to use it. And I don't think I'd bother using "two different versions of Poser" either. We all know from experience just how much room all that Poser stuff can take up. For a time I had the Release Candidates of Windows XP, and used a Dualboot option. I chose to have a version of Poser for each operating system. I got so terribly confused. So I will make do with your wonderful gift. I just wish Poser wouldn't complain 3-4 times about the poses being in a newer version.

ronknights posted Mon, 03 December 2001 at 3:21 PM

I just thought it would be possible to save the rsr's I get when making new thumbs for the poses.... But would it be too complicated to try sharing them with you so they could go up on your site? Bear in mind that all my rsr's have no weapons in Vicky's hands. I'm not good enough to do that just yet...but I wanted to see the "thumbs" in the Pose library!

Schlabber posted Mon, 03 December 2001 at 4:27 PM

well - well - Ron ... lol I'll give this PoserExplorer a try to batchconvert the png to rsr - is this feature available in it ... Hello Yarp ???

Ajax posted Mon, 03 December 2001 at 5:27 PM

The new feature was supposed to be up at Yarp's site on Saturday but I don't think it's up yet. Give it a few days. I don't think he plans to post this particular update to the Rendo freestuff - just at his site.

Thank you as always Schlabber, for sharing your time and your talents :) I don't know where my characters would be without you around, but certainly not in a lot of the poses that they are in now. Pendy

WOW! Great Update! I really love Vicky and Mike poses and you really nailed the Boris inspired ones. I can picture the paintings in my head just from your the previews. I'm not as familure whith Louis Royo's work although I was able picture some of his work your poses as well. (Fantastic stuff man!) I hope you continue with this theme of poses inspired by other artists works. I'd love to see some Frank Frazetta and Ken Kelly inspired poses. Thanks for the poses.

Schlabber, as Ajax said the Rsr2Png batch converter plugin was scheduled last saturday. But I'm a bit late, just a bit ;)) I finished the .RSR part yesterday and probably the .PNG tonight. The overall finishing Wenesday. If all goes fine the release will be available Wenesday evening but it's hard to say. Depending on the troubles I'll meet and there always are. As Ajax said too I don't intend to upload the P3dO release (1.5.2) supporting this plugin at Rendo' since that's the only addon to it. But it'll be available with 1.5.3. But I'll probably upload the Plugin - as a christmas gift .
