Subject: My First SuperHero, a Work In Progress

I'm doing a Captain Marvel "ripoff." This was actually a comic about a robot from another Universe who came to Earth. The costume is simple. I have decided I will paint his boots onto his body rather than using the Michael super boots. The boots won't work on Massive Mike or Musclebound Mike. The uniform is handpainted on by me. I still need to find a medallion. What do you think?

Now here is one with the texture on Musclebound Mike. This shows why I want to paint on the boots... he splits out of the boots. You can't see that if the boots are red.

Massive Mike didn't like the boots at all. So he is not wearing any till I paint them onto the body texture. The beauty of my Captain Marvel is that it is a head and body texture. You can use it on ANY version of Mike! The hair is a freebie from DAZ. They have a utility that converts all P4 hair so it can be used on Mike!

From the image of the original character, you may want to try the Captain America boots or the Warrior boots as they have the cuff. Dont forget the belt and what looks like trunks. Looks good!

I think I'm headed for more of a minimal approach here, since some things were a bit of a challenge. I couldn't keep Massive Mike or Musclebound Mike in their boots. So I painted them on. I found a necklace that seems like it will be ok.

Well... XAM!! He's looking good, ('though I don't recall the character being quite so buff) How will you manage the splitting off of the limbs? G A possibility for the boottops - have you thought of warping & scaling the basic prop torus, coloring it black, & "imbedding" it into the calf? - with the right color & a little magnet work it might pass muster??

Ouch, I know nothing of morphs, magnets, etc...... I did design Captain Marvel as a texture. He works with all Mikes. Here is one using Musclebound Mike and the DAZ wedge hair. As for splitting the body, I won't begin to try that.

I know you're probably bored with this by now. But I've been playing about again. I'm still not totally satisfied. I put the wedge haircut on Michael, and gave him Captain America boots, and changed the color of the boots to black. That mask stinks... I just can't paint one well enough. So I need to dig about for a "Robin mask!" Oh, Robin, Hmmm...I have Robin around here somewhere.
