Hiya. A while back I asked about exporting characters from Poser and importing them into Bryce. I can do that alright, but now I had a question about multiple figures. I have two characters together in a scene all posed and everything. I need to be able to move them without having to rotate or tweak them. I could probably manage, but I wanted to know if there are any tips that would help. I don't want one of these figures to be kicking a cloud or something ^_^ Thanks in advance everyone!

I am not sure what you are asking.. you want to export two characters at once? or you are exporting them separately and setting them up and want to be able to move them both at the same time?

Open your Poser file. Make sure your two characters are exactly where you want them in relationship to each other. Then go to File > Export. Theyll export at the same time in the position shown. About all you may have to do in Bryce when you import is turn them around (which usually happens to me when I import Poser-based obj files).

Yes, there's no problem in exporting/importing both simultaneously. Using Grouper will help by simplifying the final meshes; otherwise there is a possibility that you will find that both figures have got common materials joined up by mistake, e.g. both "skin" textures will appear in Bryce as a single mesh.

I see. I'll keep that in mind. I just wish you could import a Bryce scene into Poser. Getting the lighting and colors right for skin is s~o annoying in Bryce. Oh well.. Anyhow, I think I'm going to try a scene all in Poser. I've never done that before and that way it won't take so long....I don't think. Thanks again!

Really? I find it much easier to get good lighting in Bryce than Poser, and the Bryce texturing is also preferable. What I'd like is object linking and embedding, so that you could double-click on a Poser object in Bryce to tweak it in Poser without having to re-import. Now that would be cool.

Yeah, that would be great. I guess when you get down to it Bryce does have better lighting and lighting options. I've never really had a use for lights before because most of my renders prior to getting Poser were all dark. Anyway, the two characters exported as one object so I didn't have to mess with them except positioning them. Grouping was a little annoying, though. ^_^
