I just got home from a 7-hour rock (and other genres) concert. In the middle of a reggae act, a really drunk girl stepped up onto the stage and started to sing along with the band. At the suggestion of some toked out guys, she took off her tanktop and pulled down her black brassiere so her nipples would show. When the song was over she did a stagedive right in front of me (she actually hit my wrist which was bruised from falling down the stairs)-- but no one ever bothered to catch her. She landed on her back, got up, and proceeded to take off her bra and walked away. Too bad for you guys, I didn't bring my camera. (But the whole thing was caught on video. It's going to be shown on local tv.) (*

I have fond memories of the Silverchair show where I got backstage, and saw 13 topless chicks (including my friend rachel). I'm sorry, but I win this contest.

Oohh....I remember going to The Who a couple of years ago, when they played the whole Quadrophenia stuff again..including actors and that famous brighton scooter gang film during the concert... Ohhhhhh....and going to Yes, when they played the old 20-30 minutes songs...standing in the heat, I could feel the sweat running down my leggs....I went out of the hall to get one of those crates of beer (those carbon boards with holes in 'm) and I tripped over the f*c...errr....bloody stairs cause I was listening the 'Awakening' too much, lol....beer pouring down all over the place. Ohh.....where was that concert you went to, Star ?? Damn, wish I could have been there.....7 hours..... The Yes thing was the longest I've been too....something like 3 hours or so. (Although Steely Dan was short, but sweet toooooo....oh well, another Pat Metheny gig coming up next year).

Is the contest who's been to the longest rave or who's seen more topless babes at a concert? I definitely remember going to a fashion show where there was definitely some nudity. It was too dark to take pictures. BTW. I think they don't allow that kind of thing anymore. On a seperate note the SF pub Bondage a Go Go is having a year end extravanganza. Although tempted I don't plan on attending. =:-) > Bsteph

Don't allow it where ? I guess these things just depend on the country you live in, lol :)

Ahhhhh this post brings back so many memories!! I always loved Korn and Rob Zombie concerts, but my all time favorite was definitly Ozzfest!!! I dont think I could count all the drunk teenage girls I've seen running around half naked at those things. As for raves I've never really been to a true "rave." Maybe I should try one out.

My fave concert? oooh, either Alice Cooper coz he's the ULTIMATE showman or the Iron Maiden gig where the lighting control computer screwed up and a guy needed to be flown from London to fix it. Obviously that would take too long, so they just played with standard lighting and one guy on a manual control box who's arms were flying about like crazy operating the lights - the atmosphere was electric, really buzzing, which made the concert great to be at.... And naked babes? well, I remember this party once where 17 girls and 4 guys where there and everyone got drunk and The Stripper got put on the tape deck and a competition started.......... (",)

In my late teens, I had the extreme privelege of working for a record company/distributor...I was pretty innocent and naive when I went to work there, boy...after the first year my whole outlook on life changed. I went home and told my mom, after the first two months I felt like I was working inside one of those true story magazines. I met alot of nice stars, but the majority were party animals all the way. Being a young female was difficult, the amount of sexual harrassment was intense. At the time, we didn't know it was sexual harrassment either. We just took it. Finally after two years, even though I got paid well, got a company car, went to every concert for free with a backstage pass, I left. Let me tell you, the christmas parties were unlike anything I have ever heard or seen IN MY LIFE!

I was a professional musician throughout the majority of the 80's and early 90's. Ya know, the "me" generation! Lemme tell ya, I saw the most bizarre human(?) behaviour at the concerts we played both onstage and offstage! And the things that "well meaning" promoters organize for the bands....oh, my!! Now that I'm much older and wiser (heh, yeah, right) I look back on those days and am amazed that I'm not dead!!

Rork1973: It's a local concert where some 15+ bands played. We usually have from-dusk-til-dawn types of gigs around here, the local rock scene is hopping. I've actually seen worse (like local freakshows a la Jim Rose), but the shocking part was, it happened in the University, with the cops around and all. And it wasn't like REALLY famous bands were playing, where crazed fans become very much like themselves. I haven't been to raves in a while, it's starting to bore me (except when PVD and Goldie are around to mix--- boo, Ry! LOL). The best gig I've been to so far: Rage Against The Machine (Zack was still there). Next would be Sting and the alternative nation tour featuring FooFighters, Sonic Youth and the Beastie Boys.

I don't know Stars it sounds like a rave to me! What a set spun by Goldie like. You've got to be deaf when he is done! I managed to experience a concert with Afix Twin, Orbital, and Moby to name three. Unfortunately I had to leave before Moby was on. Still I got to see Orbital.... All I can say is that it was glourious! For what it's worth Nnelson. I was a professional "scientist" in the very late 90's to the present. A party is a party. My take on this is with the right atmosphere and bubbly. Even the president can drive to work in a recently smashed car! I have to say this about the person they knew how to flaunt the power and how to party. About the harasement thing Syyd. Yeah, I know it's a bummer when one is harrased. Some jobs just seem to be only about that kind of thing. It think the performing arts is rifled with it though. Distant thoughts to Charlie Chaplen drift through my head. Bsteph

Every summer, there are few big music festivals here. Famous bands playing 3-5 days. Almost all known Finnish bands and some big names from world too. Music, sunshine, nice people and (lots of) alchoholica. Mmmmm, cant wait till next summer. My best gigs must have been Smashing Pumpkins last tour and, say what you want, but Marilyn Manson. Mr Manson had a show, with big S. Have never seen as marvelous stage act as he did, money talked, and never seen as good lights as SP used. Rest in peace dear Pumpkins. U2 was pretty amazing, Moby was nice too, old Metallica gig was pretty neat. Oh, and Bad Religion in small rock club, it was damn neat too. Dont even remember what I have seen, always try to get to see every gig I can. ..there are few names I would like to see, Rammstein, Radiohead, Live and Tori Amos comes to my mind, so if you guys know those fellas, ask them to visit in Finland. Thank you. Never been in "actual" raves, not my stuff. Gonna visit and see what it is, but still, I know it, not my stuff. And about nudity, could there ever be enough nudity? If there could, show me, SHOW ME!!!11 .n
