I have a question regarding how much I ought to be paid for a 3D project. My school (a small private high school) has asked me to make a 3D walkthrough tour of a new administration building. I only plan on using Bryce and the project should only take me about two months working between 5-10 hours a week (more during Christmas vacation). They have offered me $500 for it, but I was hoping some of you artists out there could tell me if this is not enough, too much, or just right. Are most 3D artists who do this sort of project paid by the hour? Or is there some standard of determining pay? Thanks, Russell L. Gainesville, FL

PS I hope this is even the right forum. If not, which one is? -Russell again

The fact that you're getting paid at all is cool man. If you're doing this for a high school, and you do a good job (especially a private one) they will refer you to anyone in need, and more jobs will come. Not only that, but its also something to shove in your portfolio. Furthermore, I live in Canada, and 500$ American translates into about 850-900$ in Canadian cash. If you won't do it, tell'em to give me a call!

besides, if you don't do it, they'll either get someone else who will do it for 500$, or just not do it at all.
