I shot at dusk, of course with tripod. I shot in manual, bracketing and adjusting settings as it got darker. I think this is the best I'll get and I'm bored with holiday lights LOL, so here 'tis.

One more--bit closer up on porch. The larger the aperture, the more 'glowy' the lights.

A very cosy looking Christmas home Diane, very pretty. Alpha, LOL ~ "thingy" and "whatsit" are some of the most used technical terms in my vocabulary!

LOL - my life is full of those whatchamacallits (wot-cha-ma-call-its) that I need, like NOW!!! Oh, and it's never THAT I want, it's the blue thing - yeah, that. btw, Diane, when did you become a millionairess??? That house looks bigger every time you post a picture, not to mention your 'garden' lol!! (",)

Thanks all LOL. Whatchamacallits are big in my vocabulary too. And thingies are at the top. Jordy--I live on 20 acres--how grateful I am cause one of my interests is naturalist type things (you know, fauna and flora LOL). The house was built in 1908, quite old for this part of the country--for a 'regular' house--cause this is 'Daniel Boone' country---it was wilderness when the eastern part of US was settled and civilized more or less. It was a falling down, nobody wanted me kind of house when we bought it about 19 years ago. We rebuilt it--neat old house--and I've been a gardener for many many years---I like being outdoors, David likes to 'build' )or better yet, tear down LOL). Its fair size but not 'grand'--a Victorian farm house--that was the style then. No snow Alpha--they say they can make snow in the mountains this week finally, but none has fallen yet. There's hard frost outside this morning though--best 'white stuff' we've seen LOL. And--it was very chilly out shooting last night--that tripod almost froze to my hands. Cheers, Diane

while everyone is on the subject, do you realize the importance of do-da-has and thingamajigs? Nice pictures, Diane. I like the angle of the first one

Top pic is def the best. There is something quite emotive about the two empty chairs - the lights are on but nobody's home!
