Sorry Myske buts it's another *** airplane. The reason? Well I knows airplanes inside and out so they are easy to do stright from my mind. Also airplanes are good as test object as the shape of them is something between organic and technical.

The first image is what the jet looks like when the modeling is done. The model does not have to bee any more complicated than this. The second image is the same but in shaded mode.

The third and fourth image shows the model after running smooth twice. I have also cut the canopy free from the body and made it hollow.

Last to are some renders in Vue with Vue materials applied.

Next I will do test on something organic.

I was also thinking about putting together a tutorial of there are enough people interested.

I also have a question.
I placed a light inside the exhaust pipes but the bulb did shine trough the side. You can se a small bright area if you look closly on the last image. I had to lower the strangt of the light to get the effect to a minimum but that also destroyed the bright light effect I wanted in the exhaust. Any ideas and suggestions?

Hi Hellborn, Very nice model. You can have some nice effect without using a light by using a glowing material (Vue4) instead of using a light. You can also increase the diffuse, ambiant and luminous settings in the effect tab of the material editor. I would definitely be interested in a Wings tutorial. This has to be the easiest modeler I have seen. Gilbertdid

I agree with gilbertid for the glowing material. But I would add also a point light. Here it si a red glass with a red point light (power 50) and the glass is set to glow at intensity 100% and radios 3%. About your question : If you see the light bulb shining through an opac material, this means that the light is NOT in the center of the object, but tuches more or less it's "wall". Guitta

Ditto what Guitta said re: the light problem. And, I'm not personally into aircraft, but I gotta say wow, HB, you are doing some incredible work! Wings3D is treating you very well indeed...keep it up! :) * Happy Holidays! *
