That's really awesome. The background looks great and the posing is nearlly persect. If I were forced at gunpoint to find a problem with it I would just say the hands don't seem to be holding the scales although I do like the pose of the hands...

Looks great to me, especially considering you used Dork for it (said affectionately ;)). I really like this :) Laurie

the background is too bright and distracts the eye from the scene.

The hands don't really look like they would be holding the scales. Maybe you could experiment with your own hands, holding something similar, and look at your hands. Or use a "model." I'm pretty confused about the whole picture, with the aliens on one side and the man on the other. But a brief explanation from you could handle that problem. Of course anyone who picked up the book would immediately get some idea what it was about.

Hey man thats just grreat. I can see what people are saying about the hands though. Schlabber had a great set of hand poses, but I can't remember where I got the dl from. there is a couple in there that would sort it out just right.

Thanks for the kudos. Well the book itself should be available from jumpnupiter.com rather soon. Premise of the book is this lawyer (the guy in the middle) is supposed to defend a guy for the murder of his wife (the guy on the right). But the guy claims he sees "little green men" everywhere. Sorry bout the hands. Have always had trouble with them. Maybe if Schlabber is out there listening somewhere, he can point me in the right direction for those hand poses....?

I like everything -- except the competition between the background and the lawyer's hair. Is it really described in the novel as gleaming fire-engine red?
Dave posted Sun, 30 December 2001 at 1:21 AM
Had set it as reddish brown. Render must've picked up the reddish aspects and strengthened them.

Thanks for the info, Schlabber. What are your thoughts on the image though? David

BTW, does the rest of the face look this much like Russell Crowe?
Dave posted Sun, 30 December 2001 at 4:16 PM
I can post a render without the blindfold if you'd like, duane. David

Duane Duane ... Is he looking like Russel Crowe or do you wish he should look like Russel Crowe (sorry, couldn't resist to mention that ... :o) Dave - looks like an interestant cover ...
