I'm going through some of the pictures I've taken this fall. But I can't seem to find the best way to edit them. In a way the above feels too Hmm... "bleak". There are two more in the gallery, - and I'd appreciate any comments! Britt

Some advice for this print, hmmm. Me thinks playing weith the different depths in the field would be fun (altering the front, middle, and back layers using anything from contrast/curves/brightness/colour/and etc) to separate everything from one another. this taken with a digi or is it a scanned print? ry

It's taken with a digital camera. And I have tried that with the above, but didn't get it to look "right" The two in the gallery are not edited much either, but they have deeper color tones, - so they look better, I think. Britt

I'm betting that you will see this in less than 5 minutes, lol. I like your pics for photomontage type things, kinda of like what Narasha does. In the above picture, imagine taking out just the 3 main tree trunks (two on the right, one overlapping the other, and the one on the left), and imagine what they'd look like laid over top of different images... just an idea. Actually, I've done some montage work... Hmm... Now.. where ARE they! *lol* I've far too many HD's and a too poor file system!!! This is, btw, - a photography that I've taken of a magnolia tree in Singapore of all places, - and put it on a kind of stony frame

My take on your woods scene, No focal point. I have been in woods like this and it makes me want to look beyond the next thicket. Very colorful but still nothing special. Put an elf in the foreground.

I think it's mostly down to composition, "A road..." is great, really makes you want to get into the image but the other two don't have much of a focal point. I like the magnolia effect.

billglaw and bevciron. you're absolutely right! That's it! :) Some trunks doesn't make a focal point just because they're in the foreground, - and are dark. Your brain expects to see them there, so it makes your eyes keep wandering to find "it" :) That is definately the case with this picture, bevchiron, - I don't think it is with the pallette one. I don't get the same feeling of being "cheated", when I look at that. :) Britt
