is there a "floor level" or something so when i import a 3ds and create a terrain...that they're at the same level?...i want to have a cliff type of thing but set a floor level for the .3ds file at the top of the cliff? so i first imported my 3ds model... then made a terrrain and had to move it up and down until the gound was almost at the floor line? i hope that made sense. thanks -michael

if what you're saying is you're trying to set the 3ds on the top of the cliff you can actually do the 'drop to floor' action when the 3ds is above the part of the cliff you want it on and it will drop to the cliff

cool, thanks i was having trouble because my .3ds is a house with a sort of deck like thing that is just a cube that extends "below" the terrain so that it looks like it's "growing out" of the terrain.... when i 'drop to floor'...it used the bottom of that deck thing as a reference to drop to floor... is there a way to pick all of the elements of my house and make one 'temporary reference point' so that they all drop to floor with that as the point? thanks for your help -michael

not that I know of, but depending on how your terrain is you could put it in the direct side view and move it exactly how you want it, or you could do it the really exact way by finding half the height of the part you want above ground and putting the house at exactly that number plus the Y size of the terrain, assuming the cliff is the highest point but I'd do it the easy way
