Hello, Please in all honesty could you tell me if Carrera is worth the $99.00 it would cost me to buy it? Thanks, How easy is it to import Poser/Bryce files? Thanks again!! AR

Carrara does not import Poser or Bryce files. They said a Poser importer would be made for a free update at a later time. With the troubles at MC who knows what will really happen. It does import RDS5 and Infini-D4 files fairly well.

It will import OBJs exported from Poser, so maybe this is the way to do it...for now.

Received Carrara yesterday. A little glitch in the load, but after reloading it I am impressed with the layout and features. I can really see the power of this program. Even though I have been reluctant to use RD5 I find Carrara more intuitive to use. What I like best is that Carrara comes with a ton of pre-made objects that I have already dissected to help me learn how to use the program and modify/create other objects. To answer your question, YES it is worth ever penny. Until I master all the neat new features of Carrara, I can wait for any Poser/Bryce import (well maybe not for long.) God, I hardly figured out how to use the other Metacreations programs then along comes another neat program. I feel like a kid in a toy store and just don't know which one to play with. Cliff

I called metacreations before I purchased carrara which I will not be able to use for another 2 days. I asked them about importing poser animations and they told me that you could do it with carrara by animating the characters in poser and importing the animation into carrara and then adding carrara scenery around that.are you sure that you can't import poser animations into carrara?
