I was just curious as to how many seperate instances of bryce has anyone had up at the same time. I've only got an athalon 800 w/256mem. While writing this I have 3 up (2 rendering and one creating, while on the net). I know some of you have killer systems. :) asta

I've got an Athlon 600 with 512M of RAM. I can run with Bryce, Paintshop Pro, Rhino and usually IE with no problems. I have never tried more than one instance of Bryce tho...

Well, Lets find out... I've got a 1.4 athlon with 768mb of ram, so who knows, right? Well, it seems Bryce will only allow me to have 9 seperate instances, after that they close out after starting up, but here I have 9 open with almost 480 free ram still (see the number way on the right) the first one is rendering but the other 8 are not

Whoa, that's worth drooling over :)

I started with a 550 athelon 128 ram, went to a 750/256 pc 133 and now on a 1.4/512ddr. Bottom line, Bryce uses processor so its not a matter of how many instances of Bryce you have open, but a matter of how much CPU you have available for the render. If you are rendering in one of the open Bryce programs, then I would recommend you not use the others for anything but working. If you need to do more, do the bryce lightening and render over a network.

Good to know, tho I wasn't planning on rendering on 9, also if you render to disk it uses alot of ram and (apparently) less processor, so maybe someone could work around it that way, but still.

Me i am using a dual P3 866 with 512 mb. I always use 1 instance of Bryce, the other one is Bryce Lightning where i can use the power of 3 processor for doing images. (the other is a P3 550) And i have loaded with Bryce, CorelDraw, Photopaint and more... But Eric is right, because if you render and decide to work with another and the size is big... you have a possibility of having a slow computer. Pleiades
