This thread is in 3d apps- someone who has bryce is looking for software to do 3d modeling. I thought bryce did that.. he wants to do lathes, specifically. Does anyone know how to model and lathe in bryce, or if not, a plugin perhaps... or a modeler that works well with bryce? Thanks!Stephen Ray posted Sun, 06 January 2002 at 7:26 AM
Bryce is not a modeling app. Although it does have some modeling ability, B5 has ( metaballs, Terrain Editor, Tree Lab, Boolean render effects ) Bryce is designed to render out scenes, particularly landscapes. Most modeling apps work well with Bryce. Main issue is if they export to format types Bryce supports ( obj. 3DS, dfx.) to name a few.

If you want to be able to create objects by lathing, Bryce won't do that. You need an app like 3D Studio Max, Ray Dream, TrueSpace. there are others, but these 3 come to mind right away.
