I want to create an all white background which will include a poser figure and I want to be able to see shadows on the ground. I tried using the sun but it is too harsh. I want the picture to look something like what you would create in poser by just creating a white background with the figure standing on the floor with shadows. This would give me the ability to have the same effect but use the power of vue d'Esprit4 to render the figure. Is there a way?

Yes, you can pick from the atmosphere's all white. The either delete the ground to see all white or apply a white material so you can see shadows on the ground. Sharen

I selected the ground and gave it a white material. Then rendered...all white. Sharen

Yes, what Sharen said. :) I've followed those same basic steps frequently when building image objects or graphics for the web...like this one.

I usually do the same only with Black. Sharen

JUst note that the white background atmosphere in the Other category, is a little high in ambient light. I personally don't things look particularly good with more ambient light than diffuse, so you might want to set the "Light from the sky" slider to 50%, and the same with the ambient slider. And you'll want to turn the sun sround too.
