Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone knows of a util for PC that will read and convert Mac files over to PC format...for poser of course. My friend has a mac and I want to be able to read and use his Poser files on my PC. Any and all help in this matter would be greatly appreciated! :)

Your friend can convert his files to PC format using MacConverter. There is an "Export to PC" option under in the Expert (I think) menu. There is no way, as far as I know, to convert them on a PC.

If you save the file on the Mac to a PC formatted disk, and add the right extension (if needed, but most of the Poser stuff has extensions), it should be a PC file. The Mac will strip off the Macbinary header, that is the only real difference in PZ3 and OBJ files, I think. The library files (CR2, HR2, whatever) are another story though, I think it will still work (never tried it, though), but you will not have the icon, at least, MacConverter is best here.

MacConverter does indeed export to PC, as Daio says: under the Expert menu, choose 'Export to PC...' I just did a little conversion of the Angelfish that comes with Poser4 to see what it would do. It made a PC .cr2 file and an .rsr. It did that for the .obj too; I think it only did that because I left the box ticked. Or do PC .objs normally have associated .rsr files?

They do have - but the PC Poser will re-create them if you only send the .obj file. Including the .rsr file makes the download bigger, but sometimes Poser gets into trouble during the conversion, so including it tends to be a bit safer.
