Is it just me or is Renderosity so incredibly slow ? Just curious :)

And I thought it was just me (or my brain!) I have found the response time extremely slow in the last few days, at first I thought it was my modem, or my ISP, but I checked out other URL's and they seemed to come up fairly fast....Hmmm, are there still bugs to be ironed out? Didn't Renderosity just upgrade its server network? It feels very sluggish!

Yes - I access Renderosity from both at home (56K dialup), and from work (DSL on a LAN). Every once-in-a-while it's BAM! - even on the dialup - but usually SLOWWW. At home I'm running an external modem, and though I can't interpret the blinkinlights very well, I can say that it goes: click a link; lights blinkity-blink; wait a really long time with NO blinkinlights; lights blink; new page comes into view. Hope that helps with trouble-shooting. Joe

We've got a T1 line here at work, and it's usually really fast, but sometimes lately on Renderosity it is as slow as my 56k at home, and then a few minutes later it's almost instant! Inconsistent when visiting here.

T1 .... does the Tim Taylor tool time grunt of appreciation

Look People, I've got T2!!! (You Know the cool Green One that had the middle cargo thing that dropped down) sitting on the top of my computer, and it doesn't seem to have made any difference in speed!..? But you're right Alpha, it must be a HUMONGOUS job managing the continual data flow/base at Renderosity. Hats Off to the Techs! And a round of applause clap clap clap

Theres not much difference at all between t1 and cable. Also, I'll tell you what IM finding really weird. I post stuff and it gets lost......I wonder why I never get responses and go back in to find my stuff never gets where its supposed to.....VEDDY WEIRD

Since you mentioned it; today it's excruciatingly slow!

Hey, I just thought of something: Does this server have to use it's brain for that brainless chat room? That chat-chatter seems to FLY in high-performance real-time. Are there some kind of priority interrupts for the chat-room traffic; leaving the thoughtful thinkers in the back of the "bus", waiting to communicate our careful, thought-out compositions? Hmmm...
