I also notice that all of the FX he offers look very like the ones in MAX tutorials I've read on Michele Bousquet's 3D Studio MAX Playground - so much so that even the thumbnails look the same. Paul

Yes and I also made Zygote aware of him peddling their animals and sun statue. Jack

I check out the site and in my opion I dont think a single model on the site is his. What a peice of bantha foder theis guy is.

Ikyoto posted Thu, 23 December 1999 at 7:59 AM

This guy knows nothing about copyright law. The creator of ANYTHING can decide what to do with it. If anyone wants info on how to start legal processes against this rat-sack, let me know. Too happy to help.

melanie posted Thu, 23 December 1999 at 9:02 AM

Isn't there some way to ensure copyright of people's work? I think there's an incription (sp?) program that will prevent people from stealing their creations. These artists work hard on their meshes and no one has the right to take them and put their name on them as if they created them. It would be like if someone took one of my stories and put their name on the cover. That's plegarism and it's illegal. I hope his site is closed down. Melanie

Er, um, why would Renderosity and the Props Guild shut down? You guys are the injured parties here--you should allow others to compare the models. Publicity is the strongest weapon you have.

bloodsong posted Thu, 23 December 1999 at 11:58 AM

heya; i just went there... there's like two or three models under most sections. does this mean he took down the stolen models?

Morbid posted Thu, 23 December 1999 at 12:35 PM

Jack, you might want to check my post in the previous thread on this topic. Zygote isn't the only company he's ripped off. Amazing 3D, Viewpoint... get some other hitters behind you. He's stealing from all of them.

Well, well, well. I happen to live in Rochester. I tried calling that phone# but it has been disconnected. I know exactly where this address is located. But Frontier may have moved from that address. Anyone have any ideas on where and who I should try to contact? I'll try contacting Frontier tomorrow. But since it's the day before Christmas. I may not get anyone. And they might just laugh at me. And blow me off. scottA iamsba@aol.com

I have thought about it and have come to the decision that we wont be closing down the FreeStuff section, though we may be looking into some ways that we can help to protect the people that post their work on it. We don't approve of theft of any kind on this forum and ask that if you have ideas for ways to help bring an end to it, to please e-mail me at: jdkammerjr@aol.com Thank you for your support!! Jack
