I think I've seen that guy on some one elses logo before... hmmmmm Show them the Robots too Ron! I've had folks not realize where they were either.
I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

Doug, You had him on your logo? Do you still use him? The only trademark I remember is that kool bottle.. Never knew what it was all about though. This figure is really a universal figure for many artists. Heck, I even have the exact wooden figure sitting on the entertainment center downstairs. You know, that wooden figure that is supposed to have a spike up his... rear... you can pose him when you want? The cat ate off one of his feet, but he is still around. I never used him much, but he is one of the few remaining souveniers from when I tried to be an artist on paper and canvas.

It's still the logo on my SturkWurk business cards... I trimmed it down about six month's ago or so... I'm not staking a claim to it at all though, just demonstrating "parralel thinking".

I have about 6 logo images... I use whatever suits my fancy at the time. I'm having some static cling stickers even made for my car windows! (yep, a printer owes me some favors) One of the reasons we used the Manniquinn in this month's contest was because of my older logo. We were going to use the "StickMan" instead of Manny though... I even figured out the map for him... (that's one of the Poser files that isnt natively mapped)... but we thought the process of getting the Mapped version would lose too many participants. Doug

Doug, You remain one of my "artistic heroes," and I surely wouldn't even dream of ripping you off. I have to confess I don't even know if I've seen the mannequin as part of the logo on your site. I scrambled through the entire site and never saw him there today. My middle-aged memory isn't good enough to say if I've ever seen him on your site before! I do love that bottle of yours.... is there a story behind it? Is it a story you can tell in public?
sturkwurk posted Wed, 09 January 2002 at 10:58 PM
Not to worry Ron... I don't stake any claim to the manny in my logo. My bottle? have you read the label? Doug

Doug, you may find this funny. I never looked past the Sturkwurk words. I am always reminded of that "medicine tonic" that many charlatans sold in the old days. No, I don't think of you as a charlatan, but that is what I thought of when I saw your bottle. Now that I read it, I see Elbow Grease?! Wow.
sturkwurk posted Wed, 09 January 2002 at 11:06 PM
And "Elbow Grease" is a metaphor for?

UMM, the words escape me, but I'd guess "hard work?!"

... bingo ... I'm trying to email you a kewpee doll, but it keeps getting jammed up in the floppy drive.

Hey, Doug, I'll send my "snail mail" address to you in an email, grin. Then my wife would ask me who sent the doll. On second thought, tee hee.

That last bit sounds like a missing reflection map. Some poser files are set to use .pct reflection maps but for some reason a lot of us can't use them even if we have them. If you open the cr2 in a text editor and do a search for ".pct" and replace with ".jpg" you should be able to fix it. Provided you have the same reflection map in jpeg format of course.
