I know this may sound selfish of me to bitch about renderositys logon speed since its a free service and all but this place lags more and more everyday with its users list growing in popularity. What kind of line does this server run off of? im guessing a T-3 line. so maybe the owners of this site should contact their ISP provider (Or whatever) and ask them to fix these issues. its terrible. I feel like im n a 2400bps modem again and im on DSL. please do something about this congestion. Also fix all these error pages i get from time to time. perhaps the site should go down for a few days so the Ops can rehash and update everything. Could use a new look to...OK now im asking for to much :)

Upgrading the servers is an ongoing process. See the latest info at the link. :)

P.S. *You* can change the look of the site! (*My* Renderosity is violet and blue.) Check out the options on your profile page. :)

Not only can you change the colors as Mod. Varian has mentioned, you can move the side bar to the right or left side of the page. :) They just added a new server this past weekend to help with the speed of the site and are working on ways to free up bandwith. There has been other upgrades to the system in this past year as well. :D It's just growing so fast!

The issue is not bandwidth. Our co-location facility has multiple OC-3 connections. The recent problems have mostly been disk related. We've just moved the database out to a separate dedicated server, so that will help reduce some of the I/O load from our file server. Adding that server gives us a total of four servers currently running Renderosity. One database server, two web servers, and a bigger web server/file server. Russell

Actually the past couple of days it's been back to normal for me. Just an occasional hiccup from time to time. Rich
