Thick, low snow clouds, light snow, no moon -- light from in town reflecting from low clouds to illuminate scene. Fuji 800 film, Minolta SRT with 58mm Rokkor, 1 minute exposure at f/8. Enjoy - and Thanks. Joe

No manipulation in this, no sepia toning for example..? I've never seen (or imagine) that city lights could illuminate the clouds and the underlying scene in return that brightly... Even the tree trunks "in" the forest are visible... I'm amazed and this photo is very beautiful..!

This is an incredible colour effect & the perspective of the poles against the soft trees is stunning.

Ihave seen this effect, when living in Montana during the winter, never could pull of a good shot of it though. Looks like you had success. I really like the sureality of this image..."The Day After".....fallout yadda, yadda, yadda..... cool shot.

I like this it has a somewhat freaky feel to it. It could be used as a background for so many different ideas.

Thanks, all. I've been working hard at it. There are NO hue or color balance adjustments in this image - just a 'Gamma=1.5' in the scanner software, and a little special sharpening. I grabbed exposure with an incident light meter reading. I'm almost late for work - I'll write again later.... J.P.

Very nice.. I love how it turned sepia and the depth of field is just spectacular. Plus, you almost can't see the snow.. it's like it just adds some extra detailing on the trees. Excellent. :) - darkpen
