Is it possible to render a looping sky animation in Bryce?... or does anyone have a technique to create a looping sky animation they could share. Thanks, JABevanJABevan posted Mon, 21 January 2002 at 11:09 AM
I'm still stuck on this problem... I've figured out how to key frame the sky, but neither setting the animation to "Repeat" nor "Circular" create a looping animation!!! I need help on this one!!!

What do you mean...wouldn't the sky just loop itself?? Or are you tryin to somethin else...a better discription would help :)

No, the sky does not loop, it creates a linear animation. I need a seemless loop (i.e. constantly replaying with no apparent start or finish).

I believe you could create a sky loop by doing some post render editing in a movie editing program. As long as the editing program allows you to "cross dissolve" film clips. What you want to do basically is dissolve the end into the beginning. This should effectively dampen the abrupt jump from start to finish. Let's say you have a good ten seconds of sky animation. What you have to do is use two clips of the same scene. Using the editing program of your choice, insert the first clip, but start it from 5 seconds in. Next, lay in the other clip overlapping the first clip by a few seconds. Note: you may have to select a "dissolve effect" depending on the app you are using. Next, chop the last five seconds off the second clip. Render your movie and you should have a smooth transitional loop of the sky slightly longer than your original clip. Experiment with the length of the dissolve to see what works best. It's not the most elegant solution but it should work. Good luck with it.

try clicking the globe at the bottom right hand corner to toggle to the Time Selection pallete. Click the arrow immediatly to the left of the globe to enter timeline options, select Play Mode/Repeat, then when you goto render your animation, you can also make the same settings by going to File/Animation Setup and select Repeat from the Play section of the options screen.
