I'd like an application to assign numeric values to words. For example, if A=1 and Z=26 then the word Red=27. I'm not sure what type/kind/product/ware to look for, so any suggestions will be appreciated! Also if anybody is interested in authoring a skinable version of my idea for me let me know, and we can discuss $. cainbrogan~ }= )

Why do you need such a program? It wouldn't make much sense as a code. Okay, Red would = 27(26?) but so would AZ, BY, etc... It would probably be better to encode RED as 170504. A form of encoding already exists for letters, numbers and symbols. It's called ASCII/ANSI. Load a text file into a HEX editor and see for yourself.
