God only knows , but I guess I started loosing it. This is one of the few boards I have been participant of. And the past people here were quite helpfull(as I was to others) in resolving several issues. So, I thought of sharing some deep feelings I had for the past several months. For the past 6 months plus I have been trying and trying to get the job here in Canada, but to no avail. It seems as if the whole Universe, Fate and Destiny decided to get even with me only. I have been trying all different kinds of approaches to get an interview. So far the only success stories I can narrate are the ones where I have offered my services for free -- a common robbery trend here in Canada whereas the new comers are not given a fair chance of getting the job right away. So the enslaving them by offering a Co-op or even no Co-op just for the purpose of just using their skills is going on here at an ever increasing pace. Damn, the frustration grows especialy after filling a lengthy application forms, and then only realizing that the company decided not to hire IT people anymore, just because as they claim the market is overflooded with us , IT guys/gals. I have started to realize that this country turned to be not as lucrative as it is publicised by its lying government( especially after the canadian government decided to deny visas to more that 65% of applicants and therefore virtually "stealing" their money) "Lucky" me , I have passed all that pre-requisites long ago. It is amazing how Canadian employers see the situation: It doesn't matter how high you went back where you came from, you must start right from the bottom of the "food chain". And that is so embarasing. an MBA in Finance or Professor of Medicine should get a so-called survival job at a UPS, carrying boxes not less than 50 lbs whole night to earn a "f***ing" canadian experience. Or working long shifts for just 7 Canadian dollars an hours at Mall/Shoppers Drug Mart/Basic food under close supervision of his manager - a 18-20 years girl/boy who happen to be born Canadian and therefore can humiliate you. Otherwise no one is going to even read his resume. Afterwards, 4-5 months later, when he applies for a position, where a HR manager decided to look down upon him, it turns to be even more severe: "no one believes his credentials simply because: "Wha kind of MBA are you if you only got the job as box carrier?" Another fantastic issue I would like to stress here is a STUPIDITY and a NARROWMINDEDNESS of people with whom it is necessary to deal with. Damn, Canadians, were you not taught at schools? Or is it the truth that the public education in the North America is just NOTHING? Of course, we are proud to be Canadians. Proud of what? the whole country was built on the immigrants blood, and after a while they are just not needed. I have overheard severalconversations in the TTC, buses, trains, plaines and also read some statements from some "naturalised" canadians, like "if you/they did not like Canada, why they came here in the first place?"Or "Go home!!!" Trust me, there is no place betrer than home!!! I would go home as soon as I can have a chance. I am not a refugee and I came to Canada since I believed in what it was said "Land of opportunity". Yes! but only for those who were born here. The rest of us are just the raw material. I am not giving up! it is just a wish for 100000 Steven Seaguls equipped with machine guns to destroy this situation :)
