Well, I passed the 3.6GB mark on bandwidth this morning, so I went ahead and modified the site a bit, adding a better back-end. My serverpro host will only contain pages - the actual files can be had here at the school... I've set up a second site here (a Linux Apache server w/ a P3-550MHz processor, 256MB of RAM, and a 30GB hard drive), sitting on the school OC-48 line (our specific bandwidth is throttled to 100MB/sec, but that should still present no serious problems. I left http.conf at default, which limits the server to 150 simultaneous connections - that should keep things balanced well :) This means that anyone who wants to contribute free stuff as either GPL, non-commercial, or public domain licensed items can have a place to park it without worries of bandwidth limitations. Currently, the school uses about 2% of it's total bandwidth allotment per month, and I've been given permission to build a live web/FTP/etc. site for the purposes of student interaction with a live system (the "hot lab" I've been yapping about.) What this means is, anyone who wants to post free stuff but can't spare the bandwidth, or those who have a site and want to unburden their free downloads to a place where they don't have to pay so much for it, can simply get hold of me [here](mailto:tjmiller@datc.tec.ut.us), and we can make room for you :) bon appetit' /P
