compability is good, so if this is too incompatible you could have it as a separate setting for the individual user. When I browse the galleries i would like to be able to look in multiple galleries but not all. It should be simple to do with some checkboxes, you just check those you want to browse(with one checkbox for 'All'). So if you check 'All' you can uncheck the poser gallery if you want to look through all galleries but not the poser gallery. or just check 3dsmax and lightwave if you just want to see those galleries. sounds like a smart idea to me :)
