Here I challenge someone to create a prehistoric picture using what ever programs available to them... I've noticed that some people on here enjoy making scenes such as this... so I hope you who take this challenge put yourselves into this and create the best picture... Good luck to you all, and I cant wait to see some creative work! :0)

Here's to being the first to reply. Modelled and rendered in Carrara. All models except dino head (3DCafe - platinum pictures multimedia, thank you =) modelled by me. All of the texture mapping (procedural shading, really) done by me. I rendered four separate images, each with a different shader for the dino head and combined them in Painter (I didn't know how to map them properly to the model). I hope you like it!

Agreed.. very nice Dino image. Would be working on one myself if it weren't for being under a deadline and knee deep in code. :/ Hope we see some more entries!! Know there are a few folks in the Creature area that could do this one. :)

Does this count? I created this image for the Renderosity Magazine cover contest theme "New Beginnings". I liked the idea of the "new beginning" for a newly-hatched dinosaur in reality being a new beginning for the mammals as the killer asteroid comes crashing down. Anyway, this got little respect in the voting despite the incredible feat of balance displayed by the baby rex in his egg! Modeled in Carrara and rendered in Bryce.

I love this image. I wanted this to be on the front cover of the Renderosity magazine (yes, I voted for it). Beautiful image. There's no reason that this shouldn't count. - mfortunato P.S. How did you model the dinosaur? I still need help creating characters (organic-looking) in Carrara.
