I am trying to get a Poser Character model into Bryce 2.

So far, I have only been able to import the model as a
.dxf. The problem is, I am getting the strangest groupings
of body parts. For example one arm is gouped with a leg,
the thumbs are a single group, etc.

Is there a way to import the model with its distinct body
parts so I can texture them individually?

I have tried importing the model as a .obj without success.
Is there a difference between Bryce 2 .obj and aliaswavefront .obj?

I realize I may need to upgrade my version of Bryce so if
someone has a later version and can successfully import Poser modewls with all their distinct body parts, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your advice,

Whurl.

Bryce 2??? Even Bryce 3 has been given away free on a magazine cover disc before now.

Its been a long time since Ive used Bryce 2, you might want to consider upgrading, or look around for some back issues of 3D World magazine and locate one of the free copies of Bryce 3 given away.

Er Thanks, but neither of you came close to answering any of the questions in my post. Upgrading Bryce was the only thing that WASN'T a question. I will certainly look for back issues of 3D World Magazine. (Thanks for the tip) but hey, will I get the distinct body parts in Bryce 3d? Do I need version 4? 5? And what about the .obj question? Perhaps someonelse can shed some light.

what they r saying is, B2 is old so it may not have all the importing features and abilities. i myself started with B3 and then went straight to B5. i had no problem importing into B3, so u may wanna look into B3 on up.... besides, ull like all the better goodies in the upgrades

You can get Poser figures into Bryce 3 but it is SLOW. I used B3 for quite some time, but found B4 a big improvement.
