I'm a whisker away from finishing up the CD and I wanted to give a big THANK YOU to everybody who sent in submissions. The tutorials that have been submitted are very useful and are in essence now immortalized on the CD. I have to confess that I had hoped the CD would be bigger in its initial launch but I'm going to keep it open and try to be a little more aggressive on the forum for submissions. I've been in contact with the Renderosity store and they will have to review the CD before it can be sold so, unfortunately, it won't be available until we conclude that review. I don't know how long that will take but I hope not long. I bought lables, CD's, a CD Labler dealy thing, and a whole pack of slimline cd cases. I'll cook up a few cover ideas and post them and we can vote on them for fun. Thanks again everybody and let's hope the program keeps on going. -Kix

Kix - I would like to say that you for leading this project and making it come to life. Great work! I'm sure it will be much appreciated in the Carrara/RDS world. I'll be speaking with Eovia this week or ealy next. I'll make sure to mention the disk to them. :) Clint

Seeing the CD might inspire more people to submit for the next one. I'm thinking about doing a tutorial on physical forces.

hartcons, You should go and read this message in the forum which pertains to a preliminary version of the catelog with the contents of the CD. Here's a direct link to the catelog. http://cooldudes.dyndns.org/ Clint, Make absolutely sure you tell the guys over there at Eovia Thanks from me for submitting stuff to the CD! Also let them know that I wouldn't be adverse to providing the CD as a "content" disk which could be sold with C. It's probably not cool enough yet for them but they should keep it in their bag of ideas. I've been thinking really hard the last couple of days about my past plan to go through the entire archive of this forum and collect up ideas for the CD. One of the things I would like to create would be an FAQ and build some tutorials from the questions and answers that I've seen here. Twillis has such a good posting on the puzzle she made. This is one of the several examples that I want to exploit if I can't get the original authors to exploit themselves. As Mark B. has stated so many times, this forum is a rich environment for solutions to problems. My problem is very similar to the problem of others which is time. While my plans have promising results, foraging for enough time to make them happen is a whole other issue. I certainly understand why people haven't been as forthcoming for the disk as initially hoped and I'm STILL EXCITED about getting more and new stuff!!!!! I have stuff I haven't had the time to submit to the program myself! With all that said, let's hope I've created a format and an avenue that's practical and useable for everybody. Thanks again to everybody who pitched in! -Kix-Kix

Kixum, I'm sorry I didn't get the puzzle tutorial to you like I said I would. Things got a little busier than I'd planned, so I wasn't able to complete it. If you can make tutorials based on any posts of I've made on this forum, you have my permission to use anything of mine you think could be useful. Meanwhile, if I'm able to put something together, I'll let you know. --Terri
