I'm all for an artist signing her work, but really, this is a little distracting >^_~ I know this is a mistake on my end, but what? How do I fix this?

I've done that a few times myself. You've got the head texture applied to the upper eyebrows. Go into the materials editor, select upper eyebrows and change the settings to: Material and transparency map: none Transparency Min: 100% Transparency Max: 100% Transparency Falloff: 0% That "signature" should vanish :-)
