Thanks to all who responded to my previous message about not getting rsr files when saving faces, hands or poses. I purchased Poser4 and added the the 4.03 upgrade. On two ocasions I have reloaded Poser from the CD and the program never did and still doesn't make these rsr files. I contacted Metacreations early on and then Curious Labs tech support and got some vague reply about maybe I was using the wrong resolution (no mention about what resolution to use). Anybody else have any suggestions?

the colordepth of your graphiccard should be at 32 bit.

WHEN YOU SEE THIS LITTLE GUY it means there is NO .rsr file. Poser will NOT make a new .rsr file if one ALREADY EXISTS - even if you have changed the .cr2, .hr2, .pz2, etc. You ... ****** MUST DELETE the existing .rsr ****** file before you "load" (and "save") your new updated .cr2 (etc) file or POSER will NOT create a new .rsr file. If no .rsr file exists, you will see the "funny little guy" (shown above) in place of the thumbnail. When you re-save your item to the library, Poser will create a new .rsr and generate a thumbnail for the library. When you try to load a modified .cr2 file Poser will just use the old .rsr (that wasn't deleted - and so was not updated to match the new .cr2 file) and you WILL NOT see your changes in the .cr2 file you just loaded. Hope this helps. cheers, dr geep ;=]

  1. Modify your "newface.fc2" file and save it. 2. Find and DELETE the "newface.rsr" file. 3. Open Poser and open library "faces" 4. Look for "newface" - you should see "funny little guy" 5. Load the "newface" - click on "checkmark" 6. Adjust the Poser window to get the thumbnail you want to see in the library. 7. "Save "newface" to the library - click the plus(+) sign. 8. Change libraries to anything except "faces." 9. Change libraries to "faces" - this causes Poser to re-load the faces library. 10. Look for "newface" - it should have the updated thumbnail and contain the updated information from your edited .fc2 file. If this doesn't work, I'm lost! cheers, dr geep ;=]
