As per title, I want to know what makes Bryce 5 better than Bryce 4. Better texture mapping, rendering; what? Thanks!

Metaballs come to mind...expanded lighting options...Stephen Ray posted Sun, 03 February 2002 at 10:09 PM
Tree lab, Light Lab, Metaballs, Premium render options ( soft shadows, blurred reflections, field of view, blurred transmission ,true ambiance, + more ) Network rendering, User libraries. Probably more but that's all that comes to mind right now. Well worth the upgrade price IMO.

I know the tree lab has been mentioned but its almost worth the price just for that! The file size of Bryce trees is very small in comparison to imported trees which makes scenic images much easier to handle....now if you're not into trees then like Stephen says, the light lab is greatly improved and has much to offer...

I haven't got 5 yet but am really looking forward to it, primarily because of the user libraries.

I pretty much agree with the previous posts - the Tree Lab and Light Lab make version 5 worth it for me. Especially the Tree Lab, if you're a tree-junkie like me :-)
