Still waiting till febuary to consider buying Carrara. I did note this on one review site: 300 Bonus Textures - from ImageCels, Marlin Studios, and TextureWorld as part of the features. Are these textures effectively royalty free for anywork? My concern had been for some time, and the reason ill probly never buy a major texture collection (there loss of buisness) is i cannot use them for my own models when i turn around to sell them (that being the models that might have one or 2 textures included mapped too their surface). From the looks of it, ill be learning how to create textures whether or not i want too. Just curious how the textures included in Carrara fit into the scheme of things. If you do have a anwser, also, how would this apply to the plugin for addon 'anything grooves'?

pmoores, I think you can use the textures in any way you want in your artwork, but are probably restricted from redistributing them in any way. However, if the target market for your models is other Carrara users who have access to the same bonus textures, you could certainly say something about your customer having to install the bonus textures before your model will render correctly. As for Anything Grooves, you could certainly build shaders for Anything Grooves or set up Carrara files and sell them as models. MBGroove is such a product, it provides shaders and textures built to take advantage of Anything Grooves. Of course your customer would also have to have Anything Grooves too for it to work. Optionally, if you didn't want to require Anything Grooves, you could build stuff with Anything Grooves, export an OBJ file, and sell the OBJ file as your model. Of course I feel that would be a bad idea, because AGr will generate some really large OBJ files (and it doesn't help me sell any more Anything Grooves :) ).
