I would like to produce in a PC with Win 2000 pro, 500 megs, dvd backup, 2 40 gigs HDs, Adobe premiere, 3d studio max, poser, WB3Pro. For high quality videos... you would need to use MPG2 (DVD quality) or uncompressed AVIs which are HUGE... around 20GB for 5 to 10 min of video. MPG2 is ok. If you want High quality recordings you would need to use a professional video out solution because most ordinary gfx cards arent great when it comes to TV out. A a video capture device such as the Matrox R2500 so that you can export to video tape, and a non-linear editing application such as Adobe Premier to put everything together in a format that will work on the tape. Don't forget to use video safe colors in Max to avoid the flare thats common with reds and blues when they are over saturated. You don't need to use the computer for anything else during the months that it will take to render a short film. *Note: Its better to produce a commercial or a musical video of no more than 3 minutes. Any suggestion?
