Subject: zipping files

win zip and win rar do not zip my files small enough to upload to my site. what other program out there will zip my files smaller? preferably, in half. At the current moment, i am doing a video in poser. what i have so far is 5.26MB this takes awhile to upload. any idea's?

You could try ... ... zipping your zip files. ;=] Actually, videos require a large amount of data. (even when they are compressed, i.e., zipped) It's a fact of life. ;=]

Videos are often highly compressed, so zipping them won't help much. One way to reduce their size is to use newer codecs like Mpeg-4, if you haven't already tried those.

never heard of mpeg 4. what is it, and what does it do?

It's one of many codecs (COmpress/DECompress) for handling video, but it's more recent than most, and it compresses the video to a smaller size than many of its predecessors. You use it to decompress the video for viewing, and for compressing the video when saving.

Find it at divx.com. The term "DivX" is often used in association with various versions of the Mpeg-4 codec.
