Is it possible to seperate an article of clothing that's part of an existing figure, and use it on others? For example, in Poser 4, is it possible to separate the business man's coat from the rest of the figure and use it on the P4 Nude Male?

I also want to know how if it's possible. I can't seem to get it done either. I think this would apply to all things like this.

Try it. export the figure in .obj format. Be shure don't rescale the objet(uncheck all except as a morph target)and open it in Max or another. Go to modifiers, subobject, poligons, select by ID. Them remove all poligons except the coat and export the new obj.

export figure, check the top 4 boxes when poser prompts you. import back into poser use grouper tool, create new group, include material of the jacket, create new prop. this will get you the jacket mesh separate, now all you need to do is regroup it according to the figure you want to put it on. copy the .cr2 from some other item for that figure and have the copy point to the .obj you made. the jacket needs to match the position of item that you got the .cr2 from.

... it's already been done.

Visit Ghastley's site, and look in downloads for P4Male stuff. You'll find the single-breasted jacket from the P3/P4 Businessman converted to a separate conforming item.

Ghastley has some tutorials on conforming clothing, also.
