I may have missed postings about this, but has anyone tested the free Beta release of Mimic? If so, does it work? It's a program by LIPSinc that is supposed to lipsynch wav files with poser characters. You can find it at http://www.lipsinc.com/ Thanks

There is a Mimic Forum at PFO: http://www.poserforum.net Many of us have been discussing it. Kick ass plugin! co(V)(V)union

go to have a laugh a little further down the page. If you download the zip you will see an example of mimic and Poser. It is really easy and a lot of fun.

We are working with LIPSinc and will be offering our own forum for it shortly. We can do this since most of the team that run the forum (including myself) have used Mimic since August of last year and helped get it ready for the Beta. It is incrediably easy to use and very fun as well, you can see some of the tests we did using the Alpha of Mimic on their website. Also, we will be posting our visimes and Mimic Ready characters for all of you to use very shortly. Hope that helps!! Jack

thanks. I'm looking forward to it. Maybe I can get my characters to stop talking like the adults in the peanuts cartoons.

I've been using the beta since early december and love it. I've already started converting my characters over to Mimic and have my Yuppie Werewolf finished already.

I wasn't able to get the cat talking- is it possible to make animals speak with mimic?

Jack D. Kammerer posted Fri, 07 January 2000 at 12:10 AM

Currently, Traveler has made it possible for the dog to talk, for an example you can view the sample of it on the LIPSinc website. We will make him availiable for you to download soon, and will be working on the cat and should have that in a few weeks. Jack

That's great! PLEASE keep me posted! You guys are the reason I bought Poser in the first place. I saw Poser originally and didn't think that it had enough versatility for my needs. When I came to this site, however, i realized that there's such a great community working together with it, it was worth spending the money. You folks are the best. Thanks.
